Villa La Rotonda is an icon of Palladian architecture and many people have it on their wish list.
Walking around the villa with its four monumental fronts and then through its rooms never fails to live up a visitor’s expectations and actually it goes beyond, neither pictures nor videos can give a genuine idea of the experience.

Together with a historical and architectural introduction to the villa, I like focusing on the perception of the surrounding landscape, the proportions of the rooms, the relationship between the architecture and the interior ornamentation.
Visitors who would like to deepen their knowledge may also be interested in knowing a bit about the transformations the villa underwent throughout the centuries. It was not finished in Palladio’s time and another two architects worked on it, Vincenzo Scamozzi and Francesco Muttoni. The way buildings evolve has always fascinated me.
An interesting aspect of the visit is also about the lifestyle: how the rooms were used and furnished in those days and later on.

What’s special about doing a private Villa La Rotonda guided tour with me?

I have an academic background, twenty years of experience and a friendly approach.
I love to interact with my clients.

I focused my attention on Palladian architecture in 1995, when I attended my first Palladian cour-se given by the International Center of Studies of Architecture Andrea Palladio. I went on to get a degree in Preservation of Cultural Heritage and my final dissertation was on Villa Saraceno, designed by Palladio.
In 2003 I qualified as an official tour guide for Vicenza, the city of Palladio and the Palladian villas, so I am a certified guide who also works for tour operators and institutions.

In these 20 years I have attended lectures, courses and had many interesting conversations with my international clients which have given me a special insight into how Palladio’s legacy has been interpreted in other countries.
Working daily as a tour guide in all the other Palladian villas and in the Palladian buildings of Vicenza gives me a wide vision of Palladio’s work.
